Program Manager

As a PROGRAM MANAGER within the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Plans, organizes, and oversees efforts and projects that are aimed at achieving and improving the quality, effectiveness, and timeliness of program accomplishment. - Serves as senior advisor to management and executive leadership on developing and implementing strategic plans in support of achieving the program objectives. - Manages short and long range planning activities that include multi-year work plans that are the products of subordinate organizational projects/programs. - Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work and approves leave. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Coordinates within the unit to ensure that timeliness, form, procedure, accuracy, quality and quantity standards are met. - Develops priorities for effective use of resources. Consults with key managers and stakeholders to ensure that all implications are identified, weighed, and considered in study and discussion of effective and efficient resource use and distribution. - Implements performance metrics to manage and monitor the operational efficiencies of the organization. Monitors metric outcomes and develops strategies for maintaining appropriate performance levels in support of Bureau management initiatives. - Guides management in effectively planning efforts for current and future performance requirements; implements actions necessary to correct identified problem areas and follows through to ensure adjustments to program plans were made. Possess one-year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of GS-13 level work may include:
leading, planning and organizing general and special management evaluations; and providing analysis interpretation, and documentation on complex and novel technical issues; An encompassing knowledge of technical operational and program management principles, methods, and practices including the development of plans and schedules, setting performance measures, defining milestones and deliverables, negotiating agreements, monitoring activities and evaluating and reporting on accomplishments. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
