Description:
Responsible for assisting with and/or providing elements of the sales margin forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis and special projects. Provide assistance with regard to analysis at the detailed level surrounding the pricing elements including sales programs allowances. Provide assistance with financial consulting and strategic support to management including preparing financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry benchmark/comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects as requested. Compiling and analyzing detailed financial information and related business analytics to assist the Director in providing management with decision making tools. Train other Analysts within the department in the areas of financial modeling, critical thinking and oral/written communication.
Duties/Responsibilities
Provide training to others within the department in areas including: financial modeling, critical thinking, reporting structure and format, oral communication & written communication
Analyze large and/or small quantities of data at the detailed level and provide director with management level summaries
Compile details of current and past trends using key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
Monitor existing performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
Assist with the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling Tools
Assist with the implementation and work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports
Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and value added enhancements
Provide assistance together with the Systems Analyst for reporting needs
Assist with the development of financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives
Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, journal entries for month-end closing and analysis for accrual accounts as requested
Supporting Director of Financial Planning & Analysis with detailed in-depth analysis for areas of the business as requested
Preparation of written communication and financial presentations
Establish and monitor co-worker performance and developmental goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments as required
Perform other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the field
Strong background and understanding of accounting concepts
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication skills; capable of presenting financial information in an easy-to-understand format.
Familiar with concepts, practices and procedures of financial analysis & planning
Advanced proficiency with Excel and Microsoft applications.
Must organize/prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and projects and function effectively as a team member
Experience in computer based accounting systemsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
