Summary: The Director of Business Analytics has a critical role in managing certain business and operational analytics and reporting functions for Meta Financial Group (MFG) and its subsidiaries. The position works closely across all levels of the organization to report and communicate comprehensive analysis of MFG operations. The incumbent must have the ability to analyze and understand complex business models and accurately assess resulting impacts.
The business analytics role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence both directly and indirectly for desired outcomes. This position also calls for key prioritization and time management skills in order to quickly assess the top priority in fast moving situations, act independently and keep senior management up to date at all times. The role will work closely with MIS, Business Intelligence, Business Lines, Finance and Operations areas to implement improvements and best practices.
Responsibilities include performing complex analysis and creating reports that present data in an easily understandable and actionable format. In addition, this individual will:
Will be responsible for analyzing data in various BSA, AML and Fraud data sources to interpret and recommend improvements to rules and internal controls.
Works within a business rule management environment to support creation, testing, optimization and maintenance of rules that monitor and control risks.
Manage the analysis and reporting of operational trends and key drivers to forecasts.
Develop and enhance models to predict short-term and long-term staffing needs.
Recommends and participates in the development of analytics designs using statistical analysis, predictive modeling, process documentation, comparative analysis, etc.
Interprets results and recommends solutions to reduce risk, lower expense and maximize operations efficiency and quality.
Perform complex model validation and track necessary model governance activities.
Act as a technical expert on complex analytical issues.
Build internal partnerships that facilitate sharing of analytics results across business lines, operations, and functional support areas.
Provide clear and concise analysis, including identifying trends, recommending solutions, and quantifying risks and opportunities.
Compile research and perform in-depth analysis on critical operational data.
Provide ad-hoc analysis and support development of new products, business cases, industry benchmarking, and acquisition opportunities.
Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelors degree with 6
years reporting and analytical experience in the financial industry or a Masters degree with 3
years of related industry experience.
Prior process improvement management and project management experience preferred.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated advanced expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
Strong attention to detail, works well in team environment, comfortable with taking initiative and proven self-starter.
Strategic experience in developing, analyzing and reporting on key metrics and drivers.
Requires a high level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with different levels of management.
Strong project management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with challenging timelines.
Strong conceptual and quantitative problem solving skills.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
