Schneider Electric's Industry Business has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to assume the role of Hardware Installation & Software Technician in our Sioux Falls, SD location. In this customer facing role you will install and perform service calls for our various Schneider Electric and DTN products. These products include but are not limited to: DTN Satellite, DTN Weather Stations, and Schneider Electric MultiSight camera systems.
Responsibilities:
Drive to customer sites within a 300 mile radius
Complete installs and service calls with a high attention to detail.
Perform or arrange to be performed any needed maintenance on DTN vehicles and or tools.
Keep detailed record of travel receipts.
Develop good customer relations
Maintain a high level of knowledge about DTN equipment and technology.
Maintain proper paperwork related to all assigned work.
Work under minimal supervision on duties and assigned tasks of substantial variety and complexity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Superior technical ability in regards to installing and maintaining satellite dish and all related equipment.
Skill at running coax and cat 5 cable, including being able to put ends on each.
Ability to research problems and implement solutions.
Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs, perform overhead activities, and climb ladders.
Ability to work at heights of 40 feet or more.
Ability to use mechanical and electrical power tools and handle physically exerting workload.
Maintain a good safety and driving record as well as a valid driver's license.
Strong, self-confident, high-energy and decisive, with good listening skills.
Previous installation of hardware/software system preferred.
Excellent communications with individuals at all levels required.
Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time to client sites (some overnight travel and stays will be required).
Education
Associates degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
Or a Certificate from an accredited trade or Military school with 2 years' experience.
Prior experience in hardware repair and assembly preferred.
