Full Time opportunity working Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:30pm to include rotating weekend and holiday schedule.
The Processing Distribution Tech will be responsible for ensuring all patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, inspected, stored, distributed and reprocessing in a quality and timely manner throughout the health system. -
Follows all applicable Standard Hospital Operating Procedures. Follows all SOPs and policies and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines
Is knowledgeable in the use of technologies such as, but not limited to, Lawson, T-Doc, pneumatic tube system, copy & fax machine, dolphin scanners, Epic, email, Microsoft office.
Will take direction from and report directly to supervisory staff. Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors, notify supervisor(s), and follow-up according to procedure or supervisory instruction. Will assist with other duties as assigned. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in work flow.
Will assist with other duties as assigned when needed.
Required Skills
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in Central Processing or Healthcare environment is preferred. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and must have strong phone and computer skills. Coursework and/or certification in Central Service Technology is desirable.
Employees entering into this position prior to August 26, 2013 must obtain certification in Central Service Technology within five (5) years.
New hires and transfers with a date into position of August 27, 2013 or after must obtain certification within two (2) years. Inability to obtain certification within the allotted timeframe will be considered a withdraw from current position.
