Business Unit Manager

gpac has partnered with a successful manufacturing company that is looking for a Business Unit Manager. This position would be a member of the strategic leadership team and provides direction to the organization in meeting overall goals and objectives as well as growing and developing the business. This position ensures all departments work together cohesively to maximize facility resource and capability utilization while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and profitability goals. A complete understanding of the business unit s operational and sales data is paramount to the success of this role.


Responsibilities:

Responsible for operating/functioning reflective of the company Quality Management System and customer certifications/flow downs relevant to the position.

Establishes and manages continuous improvements of customer relationships, striving to capitalize on satisfaction and growth opportunities.

Responsible for tactical execution of customer contract terms and flow-downs.

Actively supports forecasting requirements, financial and other applicable reporting requirements.

Fosters cooperation among individuals and departments in the areas of sharing resources and information and working together to accomplish group goals.

Responsible for providing leadership, communicating the plan, providing feedback, identifying/assisting in solving issues, and creating an organizational structure.

Manages customer demands and internal activities related to the satisfaction of those requirements, which includes establishing priorities, schedule negotiations, continuous improvement, and production flow inhibitors.

Manages the department staffing requirements; this includes work schedules, cross-training, interviewing, hiring, discipline, and performance evaluations.

Create and achieve department measurables that effectively support meeting or exceeding overall company objectives and goals.

Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and implements continuous improvements through lean tools, new technology, industry data, and developing resources to remove/manage the eight wastes. Assist in determining equipment and operations for the best satisfaction of customer needs.

Manage customer key process indicators and report as needed.

Assists in the coordination and launch of new/revised products and processes

Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Assists in investigating and correcting customer issues and complaints for improved scorecard results.


Qualifications:

Four-year degree in business management or sales/marketing, alternate eight years relevant work experience in a Management/Sales environment

Must possess strong internal and external communication skills; deliver metrics and presentations as needed through public speaking.

Must understand and be proficient in aerospace drawing interpretation to include AS/ISO and EAR/ITAR requirements.

Experience with ERP systems, quote modules, continuous improvement initiatives, and manufacturing practices is preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
